This is a rare opportunity to experience and learn from the source.Come set yourself free joyfully dancing to West African rhythms right here among the red rocks of Sedona. Saturnin Ba is from the Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa and will be teaching dance and drum classes throughout January and February in Sedona. All levels are welcome for the dance  classes. Wear comfortable dance attire, no shoes are needed.  Dance classes are $15,
All dance classes are accompanied by live drumming provided by the Arizona Dunun Ensemble and friends.

Saturnin Ba is a master dancer, percussionist and mask performer from the Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa. He will be teaching traditional dances, percussion and songs from his native country, Cote D’Ivoire throughout January and February in Sedona and Cottonwood. This is a rare opportunity to experience and learn from the source! Come set yourself free joyfully dancing to West African rhythms right here among the red rocks of Sedona. Zimbabwean Dance Class with Rujeko!

We are excited and blessed to have Rujeko Dumbutshena, an star dancer from the hit Broadway musical “FELA!” here to teach a incredible PAN AFRICAN DANCE WORKSHOP !!!

She will be here on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd from 6:45pm – 8:15pm.

The movements you will learn in the dance class are inspired by Rujeko’s dance experience in FELA! the musical , the rhythmic intricacies from her Zimbabwean dance traditions, the lineal symmetry of Guinea dance and the centering required for the dancers of the Congo.

Bare feet , comfortable/dance attire, and a desire to have a really good time are all this is required for this all-level dance class. Beginners and children are welcome.

The Dance class will be taught to the authentic West African beats of experienced LIVE drummers, courtesy of Arizona Dunun Ensemble, who are hosting Rujeko’s trip here. Check out her BIO at www.rujeko.org
